Несмотря на то, что экологические проблемы становятся все более актуальными, человечество до сих пор не может перейти на траекторию устойчивого роста. В данной статье мы поставили задачу выяснить, может ли такой фактор, как образование, оказывать существенное влияние на проэкологичное поведение, предполагающее более эффективное использование природных ресурсов, переработку материалов и зеленый консьюмеризм. При помощи метода факторного анализа мы показали, что образование действительно может оказывать положительное влияние на эффективность утилизации отходов. Тем не менее, результаты недостаточно устойчивы по различным спецификациям и выборкам, что дает повод для дальнейших исследований.

Even though ecological issues are becoming more urgent nowadays, humanity still has not switched to the path of sustainable development. The objective of this article is to define whether such indicator as level of education can have a significant impact on green behavior, which implies efficient use of natural resources, recycling and green consumerism. Via principal component analysis we've proven that education may indeed have positive impact on the waste rate. However, results have turned out to be not sustainable enough, which requires further investigation.
