Abstract

The article shows the formation and development of one of the leading departments of the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University - Department of history of national economy and economic doctrines - through its scientific achievements. The stages were selected, at each of which were improved a scientific-methodological approaches to the study of the history of economic thought and economic history. The result of the research process was the publication of fundamental monographs and textbooks at University level.
