Abstract

The article analyzes the course and main results of the Scientific and technological revolution (NTR) of the middle and (partly) the second half of the 20th century – from the first tests of the atomic bomb to the introduction of personal computers and the Internet. The period of 1940 – 1980s. is most typical for fundamental innovations in nuclear energy, microelectronics, in the areas of industrial automation, space exploration, creation of polymers with predetermined properties and for the events of the «green revolution». Special attention is paid to the areas of NTR, in which our country has long been in the group of leading states. The question of the reasons for the scientific and technical backwardness of the USSR from the leading countries of the world (since the mid 1970s) is discussed. In conclusion, the general features of an economic model that can bring our country to the forefront of scientific and technological progress are outlined.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to offer a systematic view of omnichannel as a new environment for interaction of market actors. To solve this problem, the author examines the features of the customer-oriented marketing concept and identifies the contradictions between the increasingly complex consumer behavior and the traditional company's strategies and technologies of the interaction with its customers. The author analyzes omnichannel as a solution that not only optimizes this interaction, but also creates a new technological basis and the environment of this interaction. The article examines the expected benefits, challenges and limitations that companies face when developing omnichannel strategies. Based on the theoretical analysis and own empirical research, the author determines the features of the introduction of omnichannel strategies into the practice of Russian business, and also specifies the directions of future research.

Abstract

In the last 10 years, the Russian market of healthy food has been rapidly gaining momentum. In 2012-2021, the volume of retail sales in the Russian market of healthy food products increased by more than 2 times. In this article, the purpose of the study is to assess competition in the segments of the Russian market of healthy food products ("Better for You", "Fortified/Functional", "Free from", "Naturally Healthy" and "Organic") and in the market as a whole for 2012–2021. Retail sales volumes (in million rubles) are taken as data of both domestic and foreign companies operating in the territory of the Russian Federation. The main research tools are the Herfindahl–Hirschman index (HHI), the Lind index (IL), the concentration coefficient (CRSV), a modified version of the Hall– Tideman index (HTSV) and the SV matrix. The results show that, in general, the Russian market of healthy products is characterized by free competition. The "Free From" segment turned out to be the fastest growing, the "Better for You" segment was the most oligopolized, the "Fortified/Functional" segment was the most stable, the "Naturally Healthy" segment was the most competitive, and the "Organic" segment was the most monopolized.

Abstract

The server is the main element of the IT infrastructure of any enterprise. Currently, there is a growing demand for server equipment in the world due to the growth of innovations, the construction of data centers and an increase in data volume. The current geopolitical situation has significantly affected the Russian server market – almost all major international vendors have left the country or suspended their deliveries. This situation led to a shortage of server equipment in Russia, which was the impetus for the further development of domestic manufacturers. This article presents the results of the analysis of the server hardware market based on data collected by the IDC analytical company on the number of servers sold by each vendor from 2018 to 2020. As the main tool, the SV (strength/variety) matrix was used to assess the level of dominance in the industry, which is based on concentration indices, Linda and the modified Hall-Taidman coefficient. The analysis of individual quadrants of the SV matrix showed that the Russian server equipment market from 2018 and 2019 from the Red Ocean quadrant, which indicated that companies were fighting for market shares, moved to the B4 quadrant, that is, the industry became highly concentrated – a natural oligopoly was observed in the server equipment market. With the departure of foreign companies from 2022, the distribution of player shares will be significantly changed, which determines the interest of studying competition in the server equipment market in the future period.

Abstract

In Russian universities the graduation qualification work (GQW) is the final step for acquiring a bachelor’s degree. Doing the research work a student may face a few problems, starting from insufficient communication with the supervisor and ending with the lack of relevant data for the study. The quality of the research work and further performance and defense of it can be affected by both the internal psychological characteristics of a student and academic abilities. This article includes quantitative analysis of GQW defense at the Faculty of Economics (bachelor program – Economics) of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Authors mention a list of contradictions arising during the GQW defense procedure. The main factors for determining the student’s score are identified and a proxy variable of abilities explaining the largest share of the spread of points is compiled to collect information.
